Screw public transport, plus Sunday Market
This was officially the last they of Sári’s parents’ stay. So, we decided to cross the ‘t’ with a good old Sunday market!
We took the subway to Bazar Olimpia everything went well until we ran into the
subway control or whatever they are called. It turned out the Hungarian student
card is NOT valid in Poland! Not at the public transport department for
sure… We got fined! Sári’s brother is a high school student, with valid student
card, so it seemed obvious that he is allegeable for the discount. But nope. In
this great country they only accept the ISEC(?) or the Polish student card!
What the heck?! The best thing is the machine where you can buy these tickets
doesn’t say anything like this! It says you have to have a valid student card FROM
ANY NATION and be under 26 years old… But the jerk – from now on the controller
guy will be called something like this because he pisses me off even when I’m just
thinking about him – said that the webpage says only ISEC and Polish card is acceptable,
and we should have read the webpage… He told us we have to pay 1,200 PLN! I was
like what the actual fuck?! Later he corrected himself and we only had to pay
120PLN even though we had a ticket just not the right one! What an absolute jerk!
No sympathy, no cooperation, if we didn’t pay, he was going to call the police
and had to pay double the price! Complete nonsense… *Just to be fair he did do us a little good by letting us get a way with paying 120 instead of 122, but if he wasn't a complete morron we wouldn't had to pay anything in the first place! He simply could've just warn us, but no...
The most ridiculous thing is, that Warsaw is not the first foreign city we have been to, and we have never encountered an issue like this… I’m calling the customer service tomorrow and see, if I can do something about this.
But I am done with pubic transport! It's only good to be fucked over, or get some disease! From the day my ticket is't valid anymore I'm only walking or riding!
So, whenever you
go abroad have an international student card on you because, if they want to,
they gonna fuck you bad.
Here are some
photos of the market but I’m done with thinking about yesterday, sorry.
