Breaking Bad, Breakingdown
Yesterday Sara didn’t feel okay, so we spent most of the day in the apartment healing.
We watched almost
a season of Breaking Bad – if you know the show you are not surprised, right?!
That thing is just simply magnificent! All the connections, the different storylines,
how those storylines connect, and the numerous anticipations… just simply wow!
I have seen it a few years ago, but I’m telling you; it is just as exciting now
than it was back then! And it does not bother me for a second that I kinda know
what’s going to happen and when! I’m a huge fan! (Yes, of course it is hard
sometimes knowing that there are people out there who would murder anyone for a
sip of meth – or whatever is called one dose – but I think on the other hand if
more youngsters see where the road of drugs lead, they might change their
thoughts on trying or in a worse case using them!)
I also listened to
my favorite podcast Fake Doctors Real Friends. The thing is that it only comes
out every Tuesday – I believe on Tuesday, or maybe on Wednesday I dunno, the
point is it comes out only once a week – so I started listening to older podcasts,
right from the first episode of the podcast actually. And it was kinda shocking,
really! I remember listening to the first few episodes back then, and it was
really mind-blowing… Back then when we didn’t really know what this Covid crap
was – except scientist who knew about SARS since 2002 – aand we all were a
little… erm what’s the word, skeptical? We couldn’t imagine that this little virus
thingy can flash down the toilet our economies, our social lives, our freedom.
It just sounded as a joke basically. By the time the first few podcasts of Fake
Doctors Real Friends were aired America and many other countries in Europe and
Asia had huge mortality numbers among those who were infected, and both Zack
Braff and Donald Faison was quite afraid of the whole virus; they stressed what
a nice gesture it was that we all were cheering medical workers by clapping our
hands every evening at 8pm. Back then we all were waiting for some sorta miracle
that we reckoned were called vaccines. The truly sad thing is nothing
has really changed since 2019. Okay something did change; we stopped cheering
medical workers – although they are still working their butts off at the
intensive care – and now we have those vaccines, but people don’t
wanna take them! I don’t understand why?! That was the only hope we had back in
the days everyone was looking forward to it and now a significant amount of people
are not willing to do the responsible thing and take the vaccines. Two words; social
responsibility. If you are not afraid of getting the virus and ending up in
the ICU, it okay, you don’t have to, but not taking the vaccines means you
increase the chances of other people ending up in the ICU. In this question, in
a pandemic the stress is not on you and your freedom on
choosing to take a vaccine or not, but the real question is are you willing to keep
us wearing masks in shops, having online classes, making us social distancing
from our loved ones, and keep us in danger of getting the sickness and worst-case
scenario killing us. It might sound ridiculous, or overthought, but basically it
is what it is. Your freedom should not affect others freedom. I’m not
saying I don’t like you if you don’t get vaccinated right now, but please do me,
your parents, your grandparents, and the people around you a favor and do think
about it.
Please.
– this whole
monolog was inspired by the podcast episode, and the email I received in the
morning about my one and only in-person class… Yes you probably guessed it; it’s going
online from next week… great –
I think I’ve
covered the vaccines’ and the virus’ question let’s get back to our day, or
what’s left to tell you about my yesterday.
In the evening we went on a small walk – north from where we live. I believe we
have never been to those streets before! It was quite interesting. We also
found a scooter, and another scooter, or actually what was left of the second
scooter. I have no idea what happened to that thing, but it did not look
good. Here, I’ll show you:
I believe that’s
it for today, take care as always,
Thanks for reading,
Almos
