I Got Lost

Yesterday I went sightseeing. Or if I want to be completely honest, I got lost in the city. Bad.

Sári asked me, whether I wanna meet her after her class, and I thought ‘hell why not?’ After she left for school, I started writing my blog, doing my morning routine, when suddenly it turned out it’s not morning anymore and I had to get going immediately! Sári’s class was 1 hour and 15 minutes on foot, and I had only 45 minutes before her class was over! It was pretty clear I wouldn’t make it on foot, so I started looking for options – yeah, I’ve decided I should avoid using any sort of unnecessary energy if that makes sense. I’ve been thinking about trying the city’s city bikes for a long time, and I figured I could make up 30 minutes on bike no problem. Soo, I downloaded the official app from my Appstore, it had one star out of five, great start – I was thinking. And when it finally got downloaded, I started to understand why… It asked for my personal details, which I gave, but it didn’t want to accept my Hungarian phone number and address. I could change the address to our apartment address her, but there was nothing I could do about my phone number… After messing around for 10ish minutes I lost the battle against technology, queued East Bound and Down, and headed out East of our front door down the stairs. Once I walked to that place previously, but this time I chose a new route. A more logical and shorter route – I don’t know why I took a longer route before, but – I was glad I found an unknown path. Unknown to me, apparently buncha people and cars already knew about that road! Anyways, I started walking as quickly as I could to make up my original 30 minutes delay and the additional 10 minutes thanks to the city bike app issue. The road I took was a short cut that ended up joining the main road which had many bus and tram stops. By the time I got to the main road I got only 10 minutes left till Sári’s class was over, so I took the first tram that was headed in the correct direction. First it went well, I even wrote Sári a message that I’ll be there, and at the moment I locked my phone I realized nothing looks familiar anymore. While I was writing the tram took a turn that I did not see. I got off at the first stop, but I knew there was no way I would make it on time… So, I called Sári, told her what happened, and I made sure she knew it was her fault – obviously. Haha I’m just kidding. But I did ask her to meet me on the main road where I took the wrong tram, so we could go home together. What a great sorry, eh?

It was actually really surprising how shocked I was when I got if that tram having no idea where I was. And it happened in a quarter of a second! I kinda panicked! What the hell?! I’ve never panicked before just because I got lost! Thinking back now, I probably panicked because I wanted to get to Sara as quickly as possible and didn’t want to make her wait. That’s no excuse to panic, but now I know I have this issue I can work on it. I mean that’s what life is all about right? Finding your weak points and overcoming them.

So, this silly story is it for today, I hope at least you enjoyed it,
I hope you are well and see you tomorrow!
