Practicing English

Yesterday felt great! I don’t quite remember what I did in the morning, but in the afternoon, I had my in-person class which was awesome! The teacher gave us 3 tasks to do; 2 readings and one listening, well I read the half of one of the readings and listened to the podcast on my way to the uni, but these tasks were difficult! Writing crap like this blog is no problem, but reading a long article is a biggie, the first reading was okay length, but the second was 20 pages! Oh, my days that’s an awful lot! And the listening was also pretty complicated, I’ve started to feel like my English is fading!
While I was listening to the podcast, I realized that this is the end of my English’s “evolution” from now on it’s probably just downhill. Last year when I was basically living with my foreign friends was the time when I used English the most, I was talking with them several hours everyday and it really felt! Now I hardly talk and it’s also noticeable… I feel like I should do something…
The first idea that came to my mind is to do more listening, so I started listening to a podcast that is made by the actors of my favorite show ever called Scrubs. If you haven’t heard about the show, please check it out it’s really good! It’s doctors’ show like Dr. House just more enjoyable – I think. The podcast is based on the old show, and in the beginning it was concentrating on the medical workers and how grateful we should be for their work especially during COVID! Hence the show is called Fake Doctors Real Friends, and just as the show itself this is pretty entertaining as well!
So, I decided I’ll listen to the podcast on my way home, and that’s what I did! I was walking home – yeah for my health’s sake I walked to the university and back – when I got to the Saxon Garden which seemed really pretty and calm, so I decided to sit there for a few minutes and listen to the podcast there. Sitting there was really nice, listing to the podcast was really entertaining and fun too!
When I finally got home Sara was ready to hit the road and do our weekly shopping. I bought granted corn(?) to make polenta at some point of the week, which I have never done without help, so that should be fun!

I'm a little tired now, so sorry if my train of though is a bit of the schedule – if you know what I mean – so, I’m sorry about that tomorrow’s gonna be a bit easier to follow!

See you tomorrow,

Almos
