Under the Bridge

Yesterday, yesterday all my trouble seemed so far away – it’s such a great song. It has nothing to do with the blog, apart from the fact I always start these writings with the word ‘yesterday.’

Anyways yesterday I went exploring! Don’t assume anything crazy, I just wanted to get outta the apartment for a few hours. Sara went to the uni and I stayed home alone and got bored pretty soon. When I finally got out, I had to realize it was raining. But I already got dressed, and was in the mood for getting some air, so I decided to do what any other people would do, headed under the nearest bridge. I worked it out on my own, if I wanna stay dry, far away from people, and be outside, with a good view I gotta get under a bridge! I took a tram to the bridge between then National Museum and the National Stadium. When I got there, thanks God it’s stopped raining so instead of homelessing under the bridge I went for a walk. I’ve been to that place and North from that place, with both Sári and my brother, so I decided it’s time to go South. When I set off, I didn’t know what was ahead of me! Previously I was always complaining that the Vistula River in Warsaw is hardly in any use, the city basically acts like it’s not even there – or at least I thought so. But South from Poniatowskiego Bridge that’s where the party begins! There are bars every 50 meters, there are street workout places, stairs to the river where you can sit any enjoy the view – and the beer that you probably have bought in one of the bars. That place is just awesome! Oh, and right in the basin of the next bridge South (Lazienkowski Bridge) is a beach volleyball court! Okay it’s just under construction right now, but the time beach volleyball will be in question they gonna get that place ready!
Oh, and I’ve also found a tiny harbor! With adorable small boats all over the place! Here look:

Unfortunately, I couldn’t admire them any longer, because Sári’s class was over, and I was supposed to cook lunch for us, so I had to get home as soon as possible! So, I went to the nearest bus stop and started checking the buses. When I got there, a bus had immediately arrived, but I wasn’t sure if we had the same idea of where to go, so I didn’t get on, I tried to work out which bus was going in my direction. By the time I opened Google Maps another bus arrived, so I decided to hop on – I figured if 2 busses had already got to the bus stop the next ones might only come in I don’t know 10-15 years – by the time I worked out where I was headed on that bus I was already close to downtown with many other bus options, so I got off and took some time to think about where the hell I was. Luckily I found a bus that dropped me of in a 20 minutes walking distance from home, but unluckily I got 5 minutes later home than Sári, so I disappointed her with the food situation.

Overall, I think it was a pretty great day, I got to see many parts of the city I’ve not seen before, and that’s always* a good thing.

I hope you had just as much fun reading this as I had living it, see you tomorrow,

Almos
