Christmas Eve

So I’m not sure if you’ve noticed it but yesterday was Christmas Eve!  So, I guess Merry Christmas y’alll!

We started our day with cleaning… Lame. But the baby Jesus was surely not coming to a dirty house. Or in our case I would rather room, haha. Anyway after we got everything shiny and ready we started preparing our special Christmas Dinner. Although we loved the Polish Christmas Dish we tried at Ola’s place we opted for a more Hungarian type of food; chicken paprika. None of us really had a solid picture of cooking chicken paprika, so we looked for a recipe on the internet which is on Sari’s telephone. The recipe said we had to fry the onions, then we added the nicely chopped paprika, tomato, and the meat. After we mixed all that, we poured just enough water to almost cover the whole thing and we left it boiling for the next 15 minutes. Then we took out the chicken and mixed the veggies with a blander, then cooked it again for some time with the chicken in it till it looked nice and thick. We had it with pasta because why would you not eat it with pasta?

We had a beautiful dinner in candlelight. The atmosphere was just as amazing as the taste of our food. The chicken paprika was absolutely magnificently incredibly delicious! And later it turned out to be a super fancy recipe what we were following, because it’s usually just done with paprika powered instead of actual paprika.

We also prepared some decorations; we bought some gingerbread hearts and we’ve decorated them in our own way. Then I hid in our bathroom and wrapped Sari’s presents as nicely as it was possible — for me.

After all the decorating and eating we watched the most watched Christmas movie ever; Home Alone. I honestly can’t appreciate its joy and humor, and I honestly think I could live a full and meaningful life without watching it ever again, but Sari wanted to see it so end of the story.

It was a spectacularly amazing day, a great way to celebrate the birth of our Redeemer.

Today’s blog is a bit shorter then usually my blogs are, but you shouldn’t read it anyways, you should be with your family/loved one and enjoy their company — although if you are alone and need to talk to someone you can contact me anytime of the day.

Thank you for reading,

Have a Merry Christmas and take care!
