HOTDOGS!
Yesterday I thought I will have nothing to write about today. It’s all
started as a lazy day, when we do nothing. But then it turned out we have no
food… That’s no dobro.
So, after a lazy morning/afternoon-ish we were headed shopping. This time we
ditched Wola Park and spiced up things a little. We went to Targowek instead.
And what is in that Targowek Homepark? What? What? IKEA hotdogs! That’s what is
there! Finally! I got the chance to have some hotdogs! One hotdog cost 2 zloty.
2. 165 Hungarian Forint. Something like 50 cents. Now that is an
acceptable price! That’s exactly what those hotdogs should cost, and that makes
them – especially nowadays – special; something that costs exactly what it
should. Tremendous.
Obviously our first move after parking the car was to get me a hotdog; I had a
vegetarian hotdog, because it’s the same price as the normal, but producing it needed
way less drinking water than the meaty one’s did. Unfortunately, I have to say,
the vegetarian hotdog is either better in Hungarian IKEAs, or it’s been a long
time ago when I had one and my memories have faded. After the hotdog, we started
walking around. We needed some candles, thongs because the ones that were
already here in the apartment are made of cheap plastic and the previous tenant
melted it. How did he managed to melt it, I have no idea, but he has talent
I gotta tell you. We even bought some gingerbread, because we have no oven here,
however there’s no Christmas without gingerbread, so we made shit happen. Oh,
and we bought a pine tree. A little one. It’s supposed to be a Christmas tree,
well we will see if it manages to stay alive till Christmas… hahaha.

After we were done with shopping, we had to have another hotdog, because Sári
didn’t eat previously – but to be completely honest if she had one when we got there,
I still would’ve had another one. Although I like the vegetarian hotdogs, I
wanted to try the normal as well. So, I did. Apart from the strangeish pale
color of the sausage it was really good. Sári thinks the difference between the
Hungarian and the Polish vegetarian hotdogs was the cabbage. Here they use either
more, or at all cabbage, while back in Hungary they might use some other
vegetables. We will test it when we are going home, I promise!
After we were done in IKEA we walked back to the car, which I parked at
another shops parking lot, because you don’t want to start a diesel car to
drive just few hundred meters to another parking lot… you especially don’t
wanna do that when it’s cold outside. That would hurt the motor, the environment,
and your wallet as well.
So, we walked back in the freezing weather put everything in the car and rushed
to the store.
We bought the usual boring stuff like bread, cheese, and whatever,
however we also bought some interesting stuff. I bought myself some Perla beers,
Sári bought tortellini(?) filled with tomato – sounds interesting to me – and we
were pretty optimistic, because we’ve also bought some decorations for our
tree.
On our way home traffic was way lighter than when we were going to the
Homepark – I believe that is its name. I though if we set off at 1530, we would
avoid rush hour traffic, but as it turned out I was wrong. Huge lines thru
multiple lanes. And the funny thing is that we went by car, because Sári was
complaining about the huge amount of people on the buses. I though the reason
for the overcrowded public transport vehicles was the rise of the fuel prices,
but it was clear on the freeway to the shops it was not the case. My
second guess for the huge amount of people everywhere is the huge population of
the city… From now on please call me Sherlock.
That’s it for today’s blog, I hope you liked it, and I really hope y’all
doing great,
See you tomorrow!
