Snowfall

 Yesterday we’ve started our day quite earl — by my sense of early, or by Erasmus student standards.

I made the bed, had some breakfast, just like if we had a life apart from the online shit that’s been going on for the last two(?) years.

After breakfast we’ve started preparing our lunch. Yeah getting back to the previous sentence, you can imagine how early it was when we got up if right after breakfast we started preparing lunch… haha, yeah.

Anyway, while we were preparing our meal I received a phone call or a video call actually from my dad, because they were having a birthday party! It was quite interesting joining them online, but it was quite fun!

After the call we finished our lunch and came up with an idea, how to surprise each other with gifts for today Santa’s day. (In Hungary aaand as it turned out in Poland as well, we have name days, and on the 6th of December we have Miklos’ name day so Santa comes on the 6th and the baby Jesus comes on the 24th ((afternoon))

So, as it turned out we were planning to go to the same shop, however to avoid interfering with each other, we’ve decided I should go check out another shop to give Sari a 10-15 minutes head start. Although this idea worked great in theory, what we forgot about was it was Sunday yesterday so, most shops were closed! And the shop I was supposed to enter was closed as well. Bummer. I wrote Sari, and started walking. 

It was quite cold, I had my headphones on it was like walking to the university on a Wednesday. It was so similar, it took me two intersections to realize, that not only the weather and the music was similar to the situation of walking to the uni, but the route as well! Crap I’ve not noticed that I was walking to the university instead of the mall! I was waiting for the green light at an intersection when I realized I didn’t have to cross that road. I said to myself ‘wait a minute, that’s not where my destination is; that’s where the university is!’ I was really surprised buy this… event? Or whatever you call this. I was surprised and also happy I woke up before I would’ve eventually arrived to the university haha. 

After I woke up at the red light I turned right and finally headed the right way. By the time I got to the shop Sari wasn’t ready, so I had to wait outside — actually it wasn’t necessary to wait outside, but inside it was hotter than on the surface on the Sun, and it was mandatory to wear face masks so I’ve felt like it’s way better outside. And it really was! The snow started falling, cars were passing by with the Palace of Culture and Sciences, it was really magical. And I even did a positive thing to mankind. A guy came up to me asking about the nearest metro station! I told him where to go — unfortunately after exactly 2 seconds we said goodbye I’ve realized I’ve sent him in the wrong direction… “And on that terrible disappointment for him” as Jeremy Clarkson would say it I ended my waiting session and headed to the shop.



After I bought everything-ish I wanted we met up with Sari for a hot chocolate, before we headed home. It was a great day, and the snowfall made it tremendous!

Last Day in Warsaw

  Our last day in Warsaw… When we got up the whole apartment was basically completely empty. Nothing was left, but a few backpacks, the food in the fridge, and the clothes we were about to put on. It was really sad. To start the morning exciting, and cheer ourselves up a bit we started our day in Costa Café or the Nero café — I honestly have no idea — where instead of coffee we drank chai latte. Sari did made me chai latte before, but since we don’t have either a printer nor the balls to print money we used cheep coffee and cheep chai thingy, which meant I was almost drinking something completely different. Eastern Poland

  Yesterday we broke the record of the number policeman we have met ever in a day. They were everywhere. However before getting in to that we started our day in Bialystok. Where it was -10°C in the morning! I got us some breakfast then till Sari packed our staff I went to get our car. While I was walking to it I checked all the cars on the street how icy were they trying to assume how thick ice cover did my car grow overnight. Luckily the car was only covered with some snowish loose staff that was easy to get rid off with a broom. However in the inside everything was frozen. The motor didn’t even start for the first time, then when it finally started it sounded like when you didn’t put the dishes properly in the washing machine and everything falls out, that was the exact same noise my motor was sounding. Sunday Market

  Yesterday we went to the Sunday Market. Or actually we went to a Sunday market – I suppose there are several Sunday markets all over Warsaw. The one we went to is called Gielda Staroci na Kole. Although it wasn’t as big as the Sunday market in Pécs, I still wouldn’t call it small. As we saw they mostly sell porcelains, old coins, tools, and similar useful goods. Visiting this market was quite an experience! The market itself takes place at a closed garden, but the garden seems to be not big enough for all the sellers, some of them sell their staff on the street right next to the market! First, we didn’t even know what’s up with that place. We didn’t see the conception. It took some time and some walking for us to comprehend what’s going on. I might’ve told you earlier, my plan was to buy a bike, so I could ride it to the uni, so one of the reasons we went to the market to see if they have bikes, if they have how much they cost, and what they look like.
