My First Exam — First-ish

So, yesterday was examination day, but let’s not start the meal with the dessert.

When I woke up I quickly wrote the day before yesterday’s blog, and then I started reading thru all the Power Points that our professors have sent us. Soon Sari was headed to her class, so I walked with her to the bus stop, which has become sort of a tradition for us in the last few weeks. Surprisingly my walk was pretty uneventful which is pretty unusual; I always seem to find something interesting to talk about. I think what happened yesterday is that I was blinded by the lights — sorry — blinded by the stress. The time until my exam was now measured in hours not in days, which made me feel really uncomfortable.

When I got back home I continued studying, till Sari came home, and started listening to her online class on full blast. I was great… I’m not blaming her, she hadn’t any other option since I’ve fallen on my earphones yesterweek — I know yesterweek hasn’t existed as an expression till now, but I think it sounds cool, at least cooler than last week — so, anyway my earphones don’t work anymore, so as I said there were no other option for her.

By the time her class was over we both were starving, but there were nothing to eat, nor to cook, nor to fry, nor to even put in the microwave! So, we had to come up with an alternative, and then Sari remembered Zabkas sell hotdogs! And how doesn’t wanna get some hotdogs, am I right?! So, we walked to the nearest Zabka, asked for five hotdogs, the whole ordering process was a mess, I had my mask on, dude had his mask on, and there was even a plexiglass between us, so it took like five minutes to us to understand each other. As I said it was a mess… then I went to pay, but since dude was the only one who at the counter we had to wait for him to serve the other customers. Then he started marrying our bans and hotdogs, when we had all five we said goodbye, however he stopped us because he was doing a sixth one for us! I don’t know if there was some sorta buy-six-pay-five thingy or just the plexiglass transformed the word ‘five’ into ‘six.’ Anyway dude was super nice, patient and helpful, and there had been way more terrible misunderstandings in my life so far, and I somehow felt okay with having six hotdogs. Haha.

After we ate I read thru thing again, and waited for my exam to start. I was pretty nervous, when I started the questionnaire I messed up the first three questions in two seconds, but then I sorta got the hang of it. My score was 64% which is not the best I’ve ever had, however it’s still better then failing. Although I was surprised I had no problem with the time limit (30min for 25 questions), however what I wasn’t expecting was to have problems with understanding the questions. There were some questions that I would bet my left ear on were translated by Google. Some simply didn’t make any sense, and of course I messed that up… But it’s okay, it’s done, let’s focus on the next one.

So, wish me luck take two.

Take care,

Almos
