Snowstorm

Yesterday when we woke up we weren’t expecting much of the day. It was supposed to be a just a regular Monday, with nothing special. However…

So, after we woke up I walked Sari to the bus stop — just to make sure she left for the university haha — and then I went to the closet bigger grocery store to buy myself some vitamins. When I left the mall wind started blowing like a mad man, according to my phone the windspeed was 43km/h! After a few minutes huge dark clouds gathered and as I walked a long a few raindrops fall on my head. Naturally I’ve started — silently — singing “raindrops keep falling on my head, just like a guy who’s feet are too big for his head” then however the raindrops started change to snowflakes! Huge huge snowstorm was hitting Warsaw bigtime! Unfortunately I had to rush back to our apartment because otherwise I would’ve had some terrible trouser accident. What a shame… However I did have the opportunity to enjoy the strange phenomenon from our window. It was the second enormous storm in what, three days, five days? There were even lightning before some thunder! The snow fall so fast that even the main roads turned white! It was so beautiful! I wish we had more snowstorm coming! Be careful what you wish for, but I really want more snow around. I could live without the massive wind tho.

— I know these pictures probably won’t end up being a cover for National Geographic, I’ve just uploaded them, so you would have something to watch. —

Anyway, after Sari’s classes were over we met at the grocery store I went to in the morning to do the grocery shopping. It felt a bit silly to go to the same store twice one day, I could’ve easily done the grocery shopping in the morning when quite literally no one was at neither the grocery store nor the whole mall! It was like a ghost town!… I mean mall.

Although there was snowfall in the morning the temperatures were quite high, I was fortunate enough to walk to the mall in snow, however unfortunately the snow was already melted by the time we got out of the store… Seemed like yesterday’s snow was just a one-ish day joy.

Although the best part is just about to come; when I went on my night walk I realized the temperatures were pretty low, which resulted all the melted snow to freeze over the sidewalk, and to create thousands of new ice-skating rings all over Warsaw! Somehow here in Poland cleaning sidewalks is not a thing. All the roads were full of plow trucks, but no one was giving a shit about the sidewalks. I’m wondering to this very day why is it like that?

That’s all for today, I hope y’all doing great, stay safe,

See you next time
