Politechinka

So, yesterday started kinda slow, kinda boring, I skipped all the work around the apartment, which was going to start tomorrow’s blog with ‘I spent the whole morning next to the sink washing dishes…’ However that’s for tomorrow, yesterday things did get exciting in the end, because we were meeting Ola and Julia for lunch! The suggested a newish, Polish restaurant, called Bar Polny.

The commute there would’ve taken us around 10-15 minutes, if we had taken the subway. However, I thought it was a better idea to take a tram, so we wouldn’t spend our outside-the-apartment time inside a tunnel. It was a tremendous idea, I even checked the which tram we should take, and eventually we were headed to the tram stop. It was only there when we realized we probably didn’t left our apartment in the same time Google suggested, because the tram was gone by the time we got there. Soon — in 12 minutes — came the second tram, we hopped on it, and started our journey. However Google Maps’ gone completely bizarre and told us the tram we were on wasn’t going in the right direction… So we got off it, and went for another one, but for that tram we also had to wait 6 minutes… So, the trip that was supposed to take us 10ish minutes took as almost 30 minutes! Damn. And the worst part is that the girls we waited for us the whole time!

When we eventually showed up, it turned out that the restaurant didn’t have any English menu, which made things a bit harder, but thankfully we had our “translators” with us, so they helped us with the translation and also with the choosing. There were a zillion options, it took as almost an entire year to decide what we wanted to eat.

I had some staffed chicken with potatoes; it was filled with butter, which made it incredibly delicious, and the potatoes were boiled, then backed with huge amounts of spices, it was even better. Sari had some noodles, with mushrooms, it was really good, but not as good as my chicken and potatoes. Honestly, nothing could be that good. It was the best lunch of my life! Unfortunately, we were so embarrassed by our late arrival, and we were sooo hungry we’ve completely forgotten to take any pictures of our dishes. Bummer! I really wanted to show you how they looked like!

After our lunch we went on a little expedition to the nearby faculty of engineering. The building was built between 1899 and 1901, and it brings perfect the vibes of those years. The building is quite monumental, beautifully detailed, it must be a complete honor to study there! We walked around, admired the building for a bit, took some epic shoots. Soon, however we had to say goodbye to the girls, and took the same tram home that we got off “because it didn’t go in the right direction” damn you Google Maps.

In the evening we went on a little run to get rid of the extra calories we picked up at the restaurant.

I gotta say, it was a good day.

I hope y’all doing great, take care
