THE %§TH BLOG!!!, i meant 50th blog444, the 50TH Blog!!!


Yesterday was the 50th day of my Erasmus I’ve shared with you! I cannot believe it’s been already 50 days since I’ve started blogging! We will get to yesterday’s happenings, but first I would like to do a quick recap what we have been thru in these 50 days.

We’ve been thru my first day at the University of Warsaw, we’ve been to thru my first class at the University of Warsaw – it’s kinda funny how I kept using first day for at least 3 occasions regarding to the start of the semester, because every time I went to the uni for a meeting, a class I was expecting something like a huge semester opening gathering or whatever, even though I’ve never been to such thing at my home university. I guess I was waiting for something like our Orientation Day at PTE, where everyone who matters to an Erasmus student gets the opportunity to talk; the dean, the IRO, the local ESN Section they are all there! And after the presentations you have the opportunity to meet people talk to them. All the good things about doing an Erasmus. Unluckily, here the orientation day was online – due to covid – so it wasn’t as amazing experience as it could’ve been.
Then there was our first visit at the Palace of Culture and Sciences which happened to be an ESN event, which we weren’t that satisfied as we could have been, but – always look for the silver lining – we had a great experience with a Polish couple, who helped translating the message of the security guys. And that day we went to our first party in Warsaw! Which was an open-air party at the garden of some office block from the Communist Era! If you wanna know more about it, you can read it here.
Then we had some great experience with Polish woman at a bus station aaand again just after a few days in a random bar with a random dude; those were highlights for sure!
After one month without our families, they literally invaded us! First Sári’s family, then my brother visited us. We went to the annual jazz festival, that was something to remember of! We went to the Neon Museum with my brother, checked out some amazing neons, if you are in Warsaw that place is a must visit! After my brother left us, we had our last guest for the month – possibly for the year, Anna, Máté what’s up? – Sári’s friend, she was our last guest. We did all the touristy thing with her – as well – but this time we found a new view terrace which was zillion times better then the Palace of Culture and Sciences! Oh, and that day I had my first – intentionally – warm beer! What a crazy day, huh?!
After all of our gests left, we had some rests and started planning our next trip! Yeah, well planning didn’t go as well as we hoped so that’s why you can’t read them here – yeah that’s just an underlined blue word not a link sorry haha.

As you saw, our Erasmus had, has, and will have its up and downs, but hey, there’s no silver lining without clouds, right? It was an absolute pleasure having you here for this 50 day, I hope you enjoyed it a lot, you are ready for the upcoming 100ish blogs!

Last Day in Warsaw

  Our last day in Warsaw… When we got up the whole apartment was basically completely empty. Nothing was left, but a few backpacks, the food in the fridge, and the clothes we were about to put on. It was really sad. To start the morning exciting, and cheer ourselves up a bit we started our day in Costa Café or the Nero café — I honestly have no idea — where instead of coffee we drank chai latte. Sari did made me chai latte before, but since we don’t have either a printer nor the balls to print money we used cheep coffee and cheep chai thingy, which meant I was almost drinking something completely different. Eastern Poland

  Yesterday we broke the record of the number policeman we have met ever in a day. They were everywhere. However before getting in to that we started our day in Bialystok. Where it was -10°C in the morning! I got us some breakfast then till Sari packed our staff I went to get our car. While I was walking to it I checked all the cars on the street how icy were they trying to assume how thick ice cover did my car grow overnight. Luckily the car was only covered with some snowish loose staff that was easy to get rid off with a broom. However in the inside everything was frozen. The motor didn’t even start for the first time, then when it finally started it sounded like when you didn’t put the dishes properly in the washing machine and everything falls out, that was the exact same noise my motor was sounding. Sunday Market

  Yesterday we went to the Sunday Market. Or actually we went to a Sunday market – I suppose there are several Sunday markets all over Warsaw. The one we went to is called Gielda Staroci na Kole. Although it wasn’t as big as the Sunday market in Pécs, I still wouldn’t call it small. As we saw they mostly sell porcelains, old coins, tools, and similar useful goods. Visiting this market was quite an experience! The market itself takes place at a closed garden, but the garden seems to be not big enough for all the sellers, some of them sell their staff on the street right next to the market! First, we didn’t even know what’s up with that place. We didn’t see the conception. It took some time and some walking for us to comprehend what’s going on. I might’ve told you earlier, my plan was to buy a bike, so I could ride it to the uni, so one of the reasons we went to the market to see if they have bikes, if they have how much they cost, and what they look like.
